People ask..."So, what's it like being engaged?" Really, it is kind of hard to describe what being engaged is like exactly. It definitely shows you just how much people care. I can hardly go anywhere now without someone stopping me and asking me about our engagement, and how it happened and when the wedding is, and all kinds of other stuff related to that. Half the time, I don't even really know the person I'm talking to (which can be kind of awkward), but that's okay...its still encouraging to know that they care. Engagement also gives you a new perspective on life. All of a sudden I have to figure out a long-term plan. Before that I just had a tentative, "well...maybe..." sort of plan that I pretty much made up as I went along. Now I'm planning for a wedding that is going to happen next August (442 days to be exact...no, don't worry...I'm not really counting) and for a marriage that will last "as long a we both shall live". In a way it is a little scary, because when you think about a decision that affects your entire life, you realize just how long your entire life could be. There are so many things that could happen in an entire lifetime! But personally, marriage doesn't really scare me because Mark and I have both sought the Lord throughout our entire relationship and we think this is what He would have us to do. So, we don't have to worry about the unkown future because God is in control and He is all we need for our satisfaction and happiness.
